    Description

    KC 261 is a high-quality viscous modifier concentrate made from the hydrogenated styrene-diene solid polymer KC 520. This high-quality product is designed to produce multigrade oil formulations that meet the stringent performance requirements of modern diesel and gasoline engines. It is manufactured to exacting specifications and is miscible with commonly used base stocks.

    KC 261 is a star-shaped polymer concentrate with maximum polymer content and viscosity that can be processed in most plants

    Manifestation

    KC 261 has excellent permanent shear stability (15 SSI, designed to meet the latest shear stability requirements), excellent low-temperature performance when using appropriate pour point inhibitors, and optimal contribution to high-temperature viscosity for the formulation of diesel and gasoline lubricants.

    Handling/Precautions

    Local high temperatures should be avoided during the heating process, especially when the product cannot be stirred. It is recommended to use an electrical, steam, or thermal oil heating system with a self-limiting maximum temperature not exceeding 120 degrees Celsius/250 degrees Fahrenheit (e.g., low-pressure steam at 2 bar (g) or 30 PSIG). For safety reasons, the use of free water must be avoided when the product is handled at temperatures above 95 degrees Celsius/205 degrees Fahrenheit. Free water is always detrimental to the quality of the product.

    Maximum load/dump temperature: 115 °C (239 °F)

    Minimum load/unload temperature: 2,600 cSt

    Maximum load/unload temperature: 1,000 cSt

    Maximum storage temperature: 85 °C (185 °F)

    Do not reheat exceeding: 100°C (212°F)
