KC 520(HSD)
Description
KC 520 is a hydrogenated styrene-diene advanced viscosity modifier. This high-quality product is designed for the formulation of multi-grade oils that meet the stringent performancerequirements of modern diesel and gasoline engine oil specifications.
KC 520 is a solid star polymer. It dissolves easily, forming a concentrate in commonly used mineral oils.
Manifestation
In multi-grade lubricant applications, KC 520 has excellent permanent shear stability (15 SSI),excellent low-temperature performance for fresh and aged oils, and optimal contribution to high-temperature viscosity.
Typical Data

(a) is not a specification, and (b) methods are commonly used in KC manufacturing plants
Handling/Precautions
This product is generally settled and compacted after packaging. Compaction has no effect on dissolution or product properties. The use of a polymer shredder, grinder, or shredder can increase the solubility rate by breaking down the polymer into small particles and is highly recommended.
KC polymers should be stored in a clean and dry area at a temperature of 15-25°C and
a relative humidity of <85%. Product packaging should be kept intact to limit exposure to airdrops, sunlight, or chemicals.
Special stacking requirements: Up to 5 stacks per box, e.g. 1+4
Minimum load/dump temperature: -20 °C (-4 °F)
Maximum load/dump temperature: 50 °C (122 °F)
Maximum storage temperature: 40 °C (104 °F)
